Russian peacekeepers may leave the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) if such a decision is worked out during negotiations on the 5+2 system. This was announced on June 5 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) by Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Ozerov.
"Russia has never refused to withdraw its troops, but under certain conditions. This was stated in Istanbul, and it has been repeatedly confirmed that we are ready to carry out these actions, but they must be the result of negotiations," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
