Experts write that the ban on jet fuel supplies was introduced against the backdrop of the energy crisis, which began due to the escalation in the Middle East and the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz. This decision affects the tourism market: exports will be suspended for the entire current season, when fuel demand in Europe reaches peak values. Thus, residents of EU countries may face high air transportation costs when planning tourist routes.

On June 2, the Russian government for the first time imposed a temporary ban on the export of aviation kerosene, which will be in effect until November 30, 2026. The purpose of this decision is to ensure a stable situation in the domestic fuel market. The exceptions will be shipments of jet fuel placed under customs procedures prior to the entry into force of the decree, supplies under intergovernmental agreements, as well as fuel in process tanks used by aircraft en route, the Cabinet noted.
