- The majority of Americans spoke in favor of ending the war with Iran as soon as possible.
Seven out of 10 Americans want an early end to the war with Iran, The Hill newspaper reported on June 4, citing a survey by The Economist/YouGov.
68% of Americans believe that the United States should conclude a ceasefire deal "as soon as possible." 11% disagree with this position, and 21% are "not sure".
Another 60% of the respondents opposed the conflict with Iran altogether. The Economist/YouGov survey was conducted from May 29 to June 1, with 1,604 respondents.
As Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko stated on June 1, the United States managed to show its weakness, not its strength, in the war against Iran. He announced the Kremlin's approval of the truce between Washington and Tehran, supported by Tel Aviv. He expressed hope that the dialogue between the two countries would continue and lead to a final agreement.
The day before, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant noted that the American leader Donald Trump would achieve the implementation of a possible deal with Iran by both military and economic methods.
