American Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna said on June 5 that critics of the diplomatic approach had been hindering any attempts at a peaceful settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine for several years, and were now opposing the agreement under discussion.

"The same people who have always rejected the very possibility of peace (Between Ukraine and Russia. — Ed.) and have never supported the peace initiatives of the [White House] administration, now they are outraged that a peace agreement has appeared on the table," the message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The politician stressed that continuing to finance the Ukrainian conflict without a clear strategy is not a solution to the problem.

On June 4, CBS News reported that the U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill to provide assistance to Ukraine and impose additional sanctions against Russia. The document was initiated by Democrat Gregory Mix from New York and was promoted through a petition to put the bill to a vote. The decisive 218th place for consideration was taken by independent Congressman Kevin Kiely from California. It was noted that the bill provides for the allocation of loans to Ukraine in the amount of up to $ 8 billion and new sanctions against Russia.
