Fraudsters place ads on car travel search services and send phishing links to victims under the pretext of booking a place. This was announced on June 5 by an expert from the Popular Front. Galaktion Kucava Analytics.

"Scammers place an eye-catching ride ad, often on behalf of a female driver. After the user "bites", the dialog is instantly transferred to the Telegram messenger. There, under the plausible pretext of booking a place, a phishing link is sent to the victim, which leads to a clone site that is visually indistinguishable from the official one," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to the expert, on the fake page, a person is asked to log in, enter bank card details, and also confirm the operation using a one-time SMS code. After that, the money is debited from the account, and the "driver" disappears. Kuchava urged Russians not to follow payment links that are sent in messengers, and payments should be verified exclusively through official applications or websites with the correct domain.

On June 4, experts from the Call Me Back project said that fraudsters began using a new scheme to deceive procurement participants on the supplier portal, offering entrepreneurs to sign contracts without registering on the platform. It is noted that the scammers are counting on the desire of entrepreneurs to speed up the execution of contracts. As a result, users may be persuaded to transfer personal information or transfer money to third-party accounts.
