Putin estimated Ukraine's economic recovery at "hundreds of billions of euros"
European experts are aware that "hundreds of billions of euros" will be needed to restore Ukraine's economy. This was announced on June 4 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the heads of international news agencies at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"European experts know how much money and in what time frame — we are talking about hundreds of billions of euros — is needed to restore Ukraine's economy," the Russian leader said.
On June 3, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the United States intends to transfer military aid in the amount of $400 million to Ukraine in the near future. It was noted that Ukraine in 2026 will not be able to provide budget financing without foreign support. The US State Department estimates that in 2026 the country will be able to independently cover only a part of budget expenditures in the amount of about $67 billion out of the required $114 billion.
