Kiev may have used AI to attack the college in Starobilsk. This assumption was made on June 4 by Scott Ritter, an American political scientist and former intelligence officer of the United States Marine Corps, in the Izvestia studio at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

According to him, neural network technology incorrectly recognized photos of students dressed in ordinary uniforms as military. The computer probably read the data and marked the civilian location as a target for an attack.

"Then there's another photo, from a career guidance event, where students are in a conference room, and people have come to them to talk about future jobs after graduation. And there was a representative of the Ministry of Defense," Ritter shared.

The expert admitted that a total of four drones were used in the attack, each of which had four missiles. He also noted that during the flights, the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) needed to see the targets, which means that there is a person responsible for monitoring at the headquarters.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 4 that the UN should pay attention to the attack on the student dormitory in Starobilsk and assess what happened.

American blogger and journalist Christopher Helali, who visited Starobilsk in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) on the same day, said that Western countries were responsible for Ukraine's attacks on Russian civilians.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the educational building and the dormitory of the Starobilsk Pedagogical College on May 22. As a result, 21 people were killed and 65 others were injured. A criminal case has been opened into the incident in accordance with Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). Foreign journalists who arrived at the damaged facility were banned from publishing reports from there.
