- Drozdenko and Ryumin discussed the development of the energy complex of the Leningrad region
Alexander Drozdenko, Governor of the Leningrad Region, and Andrey Ryumin, head of the ROSSETI Group, discussed the work of the region's energy complex and the measures needed to improve the reliability of electricity supply. A separate topic was the development of the network infrastructure to connect new consumers, the press service of the energy company said.
"Yesterday and today at SPIEF 2026, the Leningrad Region signed a number of major investment agreements, including new housing projects and new production facilities - they will undoubtedly require additional energy capacity, and we will have to build systematic cooperation with the ROSSETI Group in this direction," Drozdenko stressed.
According to Ryumin, the Leningrad Region is showing high rates of development, which confirms the demand for grid connections. In the first half of 2026 alone, energy companies will have to fulfill more than 8.5 thousand consumer requests. One of the key facilities is the technopark in Gatchina district, which is being built as part of the federal project "Closed—loop Economy".
"Work continues on investment tasks. We are rebuilding networks for the construction of the St. Petersburg-Moscow high—speed highway, and implementing a set of measures to modernize energy facilities. In the near future, the reconstruction of 110 kV substations in Volosovsky and Kingisepp districts is expected to be completed. This will improve the quality of electricity supply to several thousand residents of the region," Ryumin said.
Preparations for the upcoming heating season were also discussed during the meeting. This year, ROSSETI will increase financing of the repair program in the Leningrad Region by more than 30% to 4.3 billion rubles. The power engineers will clear 9.4 thousand hectares of overhead lines from vegetation, replace 36.7 thousand insulators, repair more than 2 thousand units of substation equipment and 1.4 thousand transformer substations.
