A two-year-old child hit by a car in the northeast of Moscow died in hospital.

A two-year-old child who was hit by a car on Gostinichnaya Street in northeastern Moscow has died in hospital. This was reported in the press service of the Moscow Department of the State Traffic Inspectorate on Thursday, June 4.

"The injured child died in the hospital," the department told the Moscow City News agency.

Earlier that day, the traffic police reported that the driver of the Genesis car ran over a child who ran into the roadway, after which he fled the scene of the accident, according to the website. kp.ru .

The injured child, born in 2024, was taken to a medical facility in serious condition.

The motorist was detained — he turned out to be a man born in 1959, IA Regnum reports. The Prosecutor's office launched a pre-investigation check and took the investigation under special control.
