AmCham called cultural initiatives the best way to restore relations with Russia
The best way to restore relations between Russia and the United States is to introduce cultural initiatives. This was announced on June 4 by Robert Agee, President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham), to Izvestia correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"We believe that cultural initiatives are the best way to improve relations between Russia and the United States," he said.
Agee positively assessed the participation of Chairman of the Commission on Fine Arts Rodney Mims Cook Jr. in the first Russian-American cultural dialogue, noting his interest in Russia and knowledge of Russian history, art and culture.
He also stressed that there are many positive experiences in the history of bilateral relations that can serve as a basis for their restoration.
Earlier in the day, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Tsiskaridze said that cultural relations between Russia and the United States can be improved. In turn, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova noted at the SPIEF that the revival of cultural exchanges between Moscow and Washington remains a constant task, provided equal and depoliticized cooperation.
