More than 2 thousand criminal cases have been initiated against droppers since 2025
More than 2,000 criminal cases have been initiated against droppers since 2025 for providing bank cards to fraudsters to withdraw stolen money. This was announced on June 4 by Deputy Interior Minister Andrei Khrapov at the session "Cyberbullying: who should pay the bills?" at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"The law on drops was passed in July last year. More than 2 thousand criminal cases have already been initiated on this fact," Interfax quoted him as saying.
At the same time, Khrapov noted that in 1.5 thousand cases, the defendants cooperated with the investigation to help uncover the criminal chain and avoid criminal liability.
On April 21, three criminal groups that assisted Ukrainian call centers in stealing funds from Russian citizens were suppressed in the Yaroslavl Region. The defendants face up to six years in prison.
