- The heads of the Vologda Region and Rosseti discussed improving the efficiency of the region's networks
Georgy Filimonov, Governor of the Vologda Region, and Andrey Ryumin, CEO of ROSSETI Group, held a working meeting during SPIEF 2026. This was reported by the Rosseti press service.
The parties noted that the implementation of previously reached agreements has allowed to increase investments in the region's electric grid complex, which contributes to its socio-economic development.
"The Vologda Oblast is a dynamically developing region with great potential in the economy, agriculture, and tourism. The load on the energy infrastructure is growing, which requires an increase and modernization of capacities. In this regard, the ROSSETI Group, a strategic partner of the Vologda Oblast government, provides significant support. I thank the company for constructive cooperation and effective work for the benefit of Vologda region," said Georgy Filimonov.
"The Vologda Oblast Government pays great attention to the growth of the manufacturing sector and implements social programs that are significant for residents. All this requires a systematic development of the energy infrastructure. We are consistently investing in the region's grid complex, addressing the challenges of improving the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply," said Andrey Ryumin.
During the meeting, it was noted that the technical re-equipment of the key 220 kV supply center in the east of the region was completed at the beginning of the year. The project has improved the reliability of electricity supply to thousands of consumers, including large woodworking enterprises. A comprehensive reconstruction of the 500 kV substation is underway to strengthen the Cherepovets power plant.
The parties paid special attention to the issues of technological connection. In 2026, it is planned to provide the necessary capacity for housing under construction, industrial enterprises and social facilities in the region.
Consolidation issues were also considered. In 2026, ROSSETI North-West took over the balance of the Ustyuzhna electric grid, previously consolidated power facilities in Veliky Ustyug and Kirillov. This ensures uniform approaches to the reliability of power supply.
