Zakharova said that the Russian Federation hopes to correct Guterres' mistakes by the new UN Secretary General.

Moscow hopes that the new UN Secretary General will take into account the mistakes of his predecessor Antonio Guterres. This was announced on June 4 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"Realistically speaking, Antonio Guterres is actually on his way out of office, and a new secretary general should appear at the UN by the end of the year. Hopefully, he will draw conclusions from the mistakes of his predecessor. We will continue to achieve this," the diplomat said.
