The head of the Kostroma region spoke about the competition of investors for preferential land plots

The demand for preferential land plots from investors in the Kostroma Region led to the creation of a competition system, Sergey Sitnikov, the governor of the region, told Izvestia at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on June 4.

According to him, the region has adopted a legislative package of social measures for investors, including tax incentives and allocation of land plots without bidding at cadastral value. Competition for the right to implement such projects has already begun to form in certain sectors, such as housing for public sector workers.

"We are ready to provide land plots to the investor-builder of housing, in return we ask for apartments that will go to doctors, teachers, orphans. And the measure related to the allocation of land plots is already very competitive today," Sitnikov said.

The governor stressed that the high demand for benefits required a change in the format of the selection of participants.

"It was decided that before the investment council, where we will make a decision on a particular project, we will conduct a competitive procedure in the interests of our residents," the head of the region specified.

On the same day, the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, told the Izvestia studio at the SPIEF that the development of industry and the creation of high-tech industries are the main factors in the growth of the city's economy. He called the formation of a modern transport framework another priority area.
