Residents of the capital are invited to participate in the short film festival "Moscow. Stories. People." Anyone interested is invited to make a film about prominent personalities, iconic landmarks, culture, modern development and heritage of the city. For example, the contestants can reflect important anniversaries in the plot, such as the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight, or the key theme of 2026 — the unity of the peoples of Russia.

"The festival will be held for the first time. Our activists took the initiative to organize it. We are opening the application process today. The best works will be presented at the Mosfilm Cinema and Concert Complex at the end of summer," said Marina Prozorova, Deputy Head of the Moscow Department of Territorial Executive Authorities.

Anyone over the age of 18 can take part, both professional and amateur. No special equipment is required: the short film can even be shot on a smartphone. The painting should have a key theme, a title, and a running time of five to seven minutes. Finished works are accepted until July 1 in the community "Public Advisers" on the social network "VKontakte".

The expert jury, which will include actors, directors, cameramen and other experts, will evaluate the films according to the following criteria: the films' relevance to the theme, originality, scenic, visual and sound components, and editing.

The festival was proposed by activists of the capital's Territory of Opportunities ecosystem — students, young parliamentarians and public advisers. They presented the concept of such a cultural project at a training intensive. Evgeny Andrienko, director of the City's Center for Professional and Career Development, supported the idea and suggested bringing it to life.

The organizers of the festival are the Moscow Center for Civic Engagement and the City Council of Public Advisers.

The Territory of Opportunities is an ecosystem of the Moscow Department of Territorial Executive Authorities that unites tens of thousands of Muscovites. It includes the Center for Civic Engagement, the Agency for Public Projects, the Development Center and the Youth Parliament of Moscow.

Activists participate in the political and cultural life of the city, implement socially significant projects, help citizens solve local issues in their areas, develop professional skills and learn from leading experts.
