Sociologists talked about the diet of Russians and their attitude to PP
Only 17% of Russians believe that they adhere to the principles of proper nutrition, according to the results of a study presented by the Logic of Milk company and the VTsIOM analytical center.
According to the survey, 58% of respondents stated that they strive to eat right, but do not always have the opportunity to do so. Another quarter of Russians admitted that they do not adhere to the principles of proper nutrition and eat "as it turns out."
The respondents named economic factors as one of the main obstacles to a healthy diet. Thus, 61% of the respondents indicated limited financial opportunities associated with the purchase of the necessary products. More than half of the respondents (53%) admitted that they are hampered by bad eating habits, and 10% consider healthy food to be tasteless.
The study also showed that the majority of Russians consider their diet to be varied, but not balanced enough. The basis of their daily diet consists of bakery products, vegetables and solid dairy products — cheese, cottage cheese and butter. At least once a week, the menu includes cereals, eggs, meat, fruits and greens. At the same time, fish, seafood, offal, berries and nuts appear on the table much less often or are absent altogether.
At the same time, Russians have a fairly good idea of what a healthy diet should be and what needs to be changed in their diet. Most would like to reduce their consumption of sugar, white bread, and other simple carbohydrates (71%), as well as avoid trans fats (65%). A significant proportion of respondents were in favor of reducing the amount of salt (45%). At the same time, the survey participants would like to increase their intake of fiber (73%), vitamins and trace elements (65%), as well as proteins and healthy fats.
At the same time, the majority of Russians complained about the inconsistency of the available information on proper nutrition. Respondents regularly encounter different assessments of the benefits and harms of the same products. Against this background, the idea of developing national nutrition guidelines was supported by the majority of respondents (67%).
"The issues of proper nutrition are important both from the point of view of Russians' health and from the point of view of sustainable economic growth. Therefore, cooperation on this issue is necessary across the country — the state, business, science and society. I am sure that only through joint cooperation will we be able to significantly improve the quality of nutrition and change the eating habits of future generations of Russian citizens," commented Yakub Zakriev, CEO of Logika Moloka.
