A farewell ceremony for Honored Artist of Russia Nina Marushina took place at the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater in Moscow. Footage of the ceremony on June 4 is published by Izvestia.
A coffin with red and white roses was installed in the foyer of the Pushkin Theater. The presented footage shows that relatives and fans of the actress also came with flowers and wreaths to the theater building. A memorial service was also held. Vladimir Zhukov, director of the theater, representatives of the troupe, artistic director, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Evgeny Pisarev, as well as relatives of the actress arrived to say goodbye to Marushina.
"Nina Alexandrovna was a wonderful artist. Acute cataract. Her happiness was to go on stage. Everyone loved her. And I loved her very much. She became one of my first partners when I first joined the theater, an actor," said Pisarev.
Marushina's burial will take place at the Khovansky cemetery, located in the capital.
Marushina's death at the age of 91 became known on June 2. At the same time, the Moscow Pushkin Drama Theater reported that the cause of the actress' death was a long illness. The actress spent almost 65 years of her creative life on the stage of the theater. Marushina's greatest fame came from the role of Lily Dyakova in the cult Soviet TV series Day by Day (1971-1972). She also starred in the films "Babi Riot", "Oblomov" and "Days of our Lives".
