The police stopped the activities of two drug distributors on Sakhalin, one of whom turned out to be a foreign citizen. Each of them was found to have narcotic substances weighing about 100 g. This was announced on June 3 by the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry.

"Employees of the Drug Trafficking Control Department (UKON) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Sakhalin region, as a result of operational investigative measures, stopped the criminal activities of two distributors of narcotic drugs," the message says in the Maks messenger.

In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, UKON officers detained a local resident, from whom they seized a package with mephedrone with a total weight of about 100 g. The man admitted that he was acting as a retailer and took the narcotic substance from a cache for subsequent distribution in small batches.

It is noted that during the operational search activities, the alleged organizer of the drug cache was identified and detained. He turned out to be a 30-year-old citizen of one of the neighboring countries, who was detained at a public transport stop.

During a personal search, about 100 g of mephedrone was seized from a foreign citizen, and during a search of a rented apartment, about 950 g of the substance, as well as electronic scales and packaging materials, while the total weight of the seized narcotic substance exceeded 1 kg.

According to police, the detainee worked for a shady online store. In May, he arrived on the island on the instructions of the curator, took a wholesale batch of synthetic drugs from a cache and had to pack it for further distribution through bookmarks.

Criminal cases have been initiated against the defendants under Part 3 of Article 30 ("Attempted crime"), Part 5 of Article 228.1 ("Attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs by a group of persons by prior agreement, on an especially large scale") and Part 4 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing without the purpose of selling narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues on an especially large scale"). They are in custody, the investigation is ongoing, and all the episodes of their activities are being established.

The press service of the Primorsky Krai Prosecutor's office reported on June 3 that a resident of Vladivostok was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempting to sell narcotic substances on a large scale. It was clarified that the man was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "d" of Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale").
