The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced a contract for 11 Tu-214 aircraft

11 import-substituted Tu-214 aircraft have been contracted for commercial operators. This was announced on June 4 by Anton Alikhanov, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"In total, we have contracted 11 vehicles for commercial operators," he told TASS.

The Minister also noted that a program for the supply of special versions of the aircraft is being implemented. According to him, this is a priority task. Alikhanov added that serial production of the machines has already been launched, and systematic work is also underway to increase production capacity.

Vadim Badekha, the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), stressed on June 1 that the company had started supplying Tu-214 passenger aircraft. According to him, aircraft deliveries are already underway. It was clarified that the Tu-214 is a narrow—body medium-haul passenger aircraft designed to carry up to 210 passengers.
