Russian women's tennis has always maintained a high position in the world, and Diana Schneider's victory in the quarterfinals of the French Open (Roland Garros) was another confirmation of this. This was announced on June 3 by two-time Grand Slam tournament winner and Olympic champion Evgeny Kafelnikov.

"Russian women's tennis has always been in its place and has not lagged behind, as Diana Schneider showed today," Kafelnikov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He also called the athlete a "great fellow."

On the same day, Schneider beat 28-year-old world number one Arina Sobolenko from Belarus and reached the semifinals of Roland Garros. The 22-year-old Russian, seeded at number 25, lost the first set with a score of 3:6, but won the second set with a score of 7:5, subsequently showing a result of 6:0.
