The implementation of the Wave technology continues, currently there are already three banks that have applied it. Dmitry Dubynin, General Director of the National Payment Card System (NSPK), told Izvestia on June 3 at the SPIEF.

"As for the implementation, this is a step-by-step process. Not only did the banks need certain improvements in order for the technology to work in their remote banking services, but, of course, this is a re-equipment of the acquiring network. That is, it is the replacement of terminals, in fact, the creation of client scenarios, so this process is underway, it continues gradually," he said.

Answering the question about when the technology will become widespread, he noted that it will depend on how quickly it will be possible to re-equip banking networks and organize the reception of all trade and service enterprises.

Dubynin also stressed that the universal QR code for buyers, which will be introduced in Russia on September 1, will simplify non-cash payments. He stressed that everything that is familiar to any person will be there.

"First of all, we did it for people, that's the most important thing. For us, convenience is the safety of our users," he said.

On April 22, the Bank of Russia announced that it would not change the terms of SBP transfers from May 1, and tariffs remained the same for both citizens and businesses. According to the decision of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank dated April 1, from May 1, the revision of the tariffs for the transfer of funds paid by Bank of Russia customers to the SBP will indeed be updated.

Nikita Yurkov, head of the SBP department of the NSPK Anti-Fraud Center, also noted on April 9 that from July 1, 2026, in Russia, it will become mandatory to indicate the taxpayer identification number (INN) when making transfers and payments through the SBP.
