Best-selling cars named in Russia in May

By the end of May 2026, Lada Granta family cars became the best-selling on the Russian market, and the Tenet T7 retained the title of the most popular model in the SUV segment (crossovers and SUVs). This is reported in the report of the analytical agency Autostat, which Izvestia reviewed on June 4.

So, at the end of spring, Lada Granta cars (including those produced on its basis) were sold in an amount of 11.5 thousand copies. The crossover of the domestic brand Tenet T7 sold 7,763 units. Among foreign cars, the Haval Jolion crossover showed the best sales (6690 units), which took third place in the model rating. This is followed by two more "Ladas" — the Vesta family and the Niva Travel SUV (5,651 and 3,614 units, respectively).

The Changan Uni-S and Haval M6 crossovers, the Lada Iskra family, the Tenet T4 crossover and the Lada Niva Legend SUV were also among the top ten bestsellers. Their sales in May were in the range of 2594-3053 cars. It is noteworthy that all of the above models are produced in factories in Russia in one way or another.

Three VAZ models — Lada Niva Legend (-0.5%), Granta (-4.6%) and Vesta (-13.8%) - had negative market dynamics in May. Haval M6 has the highest increase (+78%). According to the results of five months, Changan Uni-S (-15.2%) was in the red along with Granta (-14.1%) and Vesta (-40.4%), and Lada Niva Travel sales increased more than the rest (+29.4%).

As previously reported on this day, by the end of May this year, 109.9 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 20.5% more than in the same month last year.
