On June 3, the National Media Group (NMG) and one of India's largest media holdings, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), signed an agreement on cooperation in the creation and distribution of content at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026).

The agreement provides for the development of cooperation in the field of content distribution and licensing, the exchange of television and digital formats, as well as the joint production of films, series, documentaries and entertainment projects. In addition, the parties intend to explore the possibilities of promoting NMG content in the Indian market using ZEEL's expertise and distribution capabilities.

"India is one of the largest markets in the world and the most important international partner for NMG. We are developing a systematic interaction with this market. By the end of 2025, revenue from NMG content sales to India increased almost eightfold compared to 2024. And the first Russian reality show in India aired on the CTC TV channel earlier this year. In December 2025, we entered into a number of agreements with India's largest media companies, including India's largest state-owned broadcasting company Prasar Bharati, South Asia's leading multimedia news agency Asian News International (ANI, India) and the Indian media group TV9 Network (Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited). We are actively building cooperation with Indian partners in the field of information interaction, and today we are expanding this vector by starting work with one of the largest players in the Indian content market. I am confident that the partnership with ZEEL will open up new opportunities for promoting Russian projects, sharing content and launching joint productions," said Svetlana Balanova, CEO of the National Media Group.

Vinod Johri, Head of the syndication business at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, noted that the holding is committed to developing strategic international partnerships that strengthen the joint content ecosystem and open up new growth opportunities.

"The collaboration with the National Media Group creates significant potential for content sharing, expanding market presence, and co-creating stories for Indian and Russian audiences. By combining our strengths in content production and distribution, we aim to create a sustainable platform for presenting vibrant and compelling stories to viewers in different countries," said Vinod Johri.

At the end of May, during the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China, the National Media Group signed cooperation agreements with leading Chinese media structures — China Daily, China Media Corporation (CMG) and Xinhua.
