The Serbian government is not going to impose visa restrictions on Russian citizens. This was announced on June 3 by Alexander Vulin, former Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, chairman of the Movement of Socialists.

"I do not believe that the Serbian government will one day do something like this. <...> We are a nation that will not introduce visas for Russians or sanctions against Russia. This is not who we are," he told RIA Novosti.

Vulin described the introduction of visas as a "meanness" that the Serbian nation is incapable of committing.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on June 1 that the possible cancellation of the visa-free regime with Serbia for Russian citizens could not be taken unilaterally and without symmetrical measures. Peskov added that the authorized agencies of the two sides are currently working on this issue and as soon as decisions are made, the Kremlin will inform about it.
