Murmansk entered the top 5 most popular travel destinations in Russia in June

Murmansk entered the top five most sought-after domestic destinations among Russian tourists in June 2026. Tourist demand in the city increased by 12.3% compared to the same period last year. This was announced to Izvestia on June 5 by the Tripster online tour booking service.

"In June, Murmansk replaced Kislovodsk in the top five, which was among the most popular domestic destinations in May. Travelers' interest in the region is primarily related to the comfortable weather and natural phenomena characteristic of this time of year," said Pavel Nezdnikov, Head of the Tripster Regional Development and Growth Department.

According to him, from the end of May to the end of July, the polar day continues in Murmansk: the sun does not set below the horizon. During this period, tourists often choose trips to lakes, waterfalls and the coast of the Barents Sea, where they explore the cemetery of ships and the Dragon's Eggs beach. During boat trips, you can see minke whales, killer whales and dolphins.

In addition, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Moscow and Kazan remain the leaders in demand among Russian travelers in June. According to Melnikov, the Northern Capital traditionally attracts tourists with the White Nights season and the Scarlet Sails holiday. Tourists come to Moscow for various festivals, as well as for gastronomic and musical events.
