Sobyanin spoke about the formation of a medical cluster in Moscow

There are more than 300 specialized enterprises in Moscow in the field of medicine, pharmaceuticals and biotechnologies, employing about 30 thousand people. These companies produce a wide range of products, from neuroimplants for restoring hearing and vision to artificial kidneys, many of which have no analogues, said Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of the capital.

Conditions have been created in the capital for a full production cycle: the infrastructure of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ allows you to go from the laboratory to the finished product, he wrote on his personal blog.

By the end of 2025, the production of medicines and medical materials in Moscow increased by 8.8%. The production of cardiovascular drugs increased by 79.8%, medicines for the respiratory system - by 87.2%, and vaccines and serums — by one and a half times.

Among the most notable developments, the mayor named, in particular, "artificial skin", which was created by Technopolis Moscow, a resident company, based on donor cells. Using the development will help some serious patients avoid complex operations and even amputations.

In turn, a member of the Moscow Innovation Cluster is creating Russia's first neuroimplants for restoring vision and hearing. One of the company's developments is a VR simulator of bionic vision. The device allows you to "see" the world through the eyes of a patient who has had implants implanted. The technology helps doctors and rehabilitologists to carry out recovery more effectively.

According to the mayor, the formation of powerful pharmaceutical and medical clusters in Moscow continues. "This work is part of the major national projects Long and Active Life and Health Technologies, which will help make high—quality medicine accessible to everyone," Sobyanin stressed.
