According to preliminary estimates, it will take about two years to restore the launch pad at Cape Canaveral after the New Glenn rocket accident. This was announced on June 1 by the head of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Jared Isaacman, at the CNBC CEO Council Summit in Washington.

"As for the time frame and 2028, I believe that the restoration of their launch pad [by that time] is achievable," TASS quoted him as saying.

The head of NASA noted that the restoration of the launch pad, in his estimation, will be lengthy. According to Isaakman, NASA's experience shows that the restoration of such infrastructure takes a lot of time.

The US National Science Foundation (NSF) reported on May 29 that Blue Origin's New Glenn heavy launch vehicle exploded at the launch complex during tests. According to them, the sound of the explosion was recorded by cameras several miles away. It is also noted that as a result of the incident, the right tower of the lightning protection system collapsed, after which the rocket ceased to be visible.
