The categories of employees with the right to leave at their own expense are named
The employer is obliged to provide leave at his own expense to working pensioners, the disabled, as well as people who have certain family circumstances. Lawyer Marianna Portnova announced this on June 2.
"Parents and spouses of military personnel or employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who died due to a military injury or illness are entitled to a similar length of leave. Working people with disabilities can take leave without pay for up to 60 calendar days a year," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Portnova clarified that working old-age pensioners are entitled to unpaid leave of up to 14 calendar days.
In addition, for family reasons and other valid reasons, an employee may receive such leave for up to five calendar days. To do this, the employee must submit a written application. According to the lawyer, such circumstances include, in particular, the birth of a child, marriage registration or the death of a close relative.
On May 18, the press service of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation reported that in Russia a man can take annual paid leave for the period when his spouse is on maternity leave. It is noted that the employer has no right to refuse to provide it. The department clarified that a vacation can be issued both before the birth of a child and after.
