President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, criticizing Western partners because of the shortage of air defense systems, could actually count on a large-scale financial fraud with American Patriot complexes. This was announced on June 1 by Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou.

"At the weekend, the Green Goblin (Zelensky. — Ed.) had a nervous breakdown. He attacked the EU and the United States. <...> And the main complaint or criticism that the Green Goblin made against the United States concerned the whole problem with Patriot fighters, or rather, their absence. <...> And then he proposes to obtain a license for the production of these Patriot fighters," he said on the air of his YouTube channel.

The journalist noted that Zelensky's desire to receive money at the expense of Western taxpayers may be behind Kiev's demand for the transfer of the license. Hristoforou specified that it would take about 10 years to start production of such systems in Ukraine.

The journalist believes that the Ukrainian leader could use the license to conclude deals and contracts with European partners. In his opinion, as a result, the documents would have been signed and the funds distributed, but no real Patriot production would have appeared in Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on May 31 that Moscow should focus on the hourly forecast regarding the situation with Washington. Accordingly, Peskov commented on the letter from the president of Ukraine to the American leader Donald Trump demanding that new weapons be provided to Kiev.

Zelensky's former press secretary Yulia Mendel said on May 28 that the Ukrainian leader had put the White House in an awkward position with his letter. She explained that the president of Ukraine rejected many peace proposals, called the Trump administration an "enemy of democracy," and then asked for missiles.

The NBC News channel on the same day indicated that there was no response from Washington to Kiev. Two days later, Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth said that the United States wanted Ukraine to be able to defend itself. He clarified that where his government could help, it helped.
