A captured Ukrainian Armed Forces militant told about fleeing from a position by taxi
Daniel Zharkov, a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), an ethnic Sudanese, said on June 2 that he deserted from his position after being transferred to a new unit, using a taxi.
"Some time has passed, I am being removed from my position, we arrive in Nikiforovka, and the commander says: we are transferring you to a fire support company. We were sent there, two days passed, but it was just beginning to be staffed. I was lying there, thinking: It's not mine, we have to get out. And I went to the NWF," Zharkov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
In order to leave the position, the captured militant used a taxi. He clarified that he had bought civilian clothes for himself, and sent his military uniform home.
On April 20, a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Nikolai German, said that it was dangerous for people of military age to get into a taxi in Ukraine — drivers cooperate with the shopping center, receiving a reward from them for handing over a passenger. He clarified that taxi drivers are divided into groups, each of which must bring a certain number of recruits to the shopping center.
