- Dmitriev called the SPIEF a symbol of the victory of sovereign cooperation over globalism.
The participation of representatives of more than 130 countries in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) this week is due to a change in global trends and the transition to a sovereign partnership. This was announced on Tuesday, June 2, by Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
"More than 130 countries will be represented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum this week, as sovereign cooperation replaces failed globalism," he said in a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The Korean Central News Agency reported on May 30 that a delegation from the DPRK headed by Minister of Foreign Economic Affairs Yun Chong Ho will take part in the SPIEF. The delegation members have already left the Korean capital and also intend to visit the Belagro-2026 exhibition in Belarus.
The big SPIEF 2026 business program will begin in St. Petersburg on June 3. Pavilions are already being installed on the site of 20 football fields, where regions and representatives of more than a hundred countries are preparing to surprise investors from all over the world.
