Four people were killed in an airstrike by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on the city of Marwahin in southern Lebanon, bordering Israeli territory. This was reported on June 1 by Al Jazeera TV channel.
"As a result of an Israeli airstrike in the city of Marwahin, located in the Sidon region of southern Lebanon, at least four people were killed," the publication says.
It is specified that as a result of another Israeli airstrike on the village of El-Bazuria, three people were injured.
On May 31, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the Israeli army to expand the operation against Hezbollah and strengthen control over the movement's territories. According to him, the IDF crossed the Litani River, captured strategic areas and took control of the Beaufort Ridge. On the same day, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that the IDF had captured the medieval Beaufort fortress in southern Lebanon, adding that it would continue to fight Hezbollah to protect northern Israel.
