Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and representatives of Hezbollah agreed to stop the shelling. This was announced on June 1 by US President Donald Trump following talks with both sides.

"I spoke with Netanyahu today, asking him not to participate in a major raid in Beirut, Lebanon. He turned his troops around. <...> I also spoke with representatives of Hezbollah leaders, and they agreed to stop shooting at Israel and its soldiers. Similarly, Israel agreed to stop shooting at them," reads a post on the Truth Social network.
