Putin presents state awards to parents with many children in the Kremlin
Russian President Vladimir Putin presents state awards to parents with many children in a solemn ceremony on June 1.
The event, held in the Kremlin, was timed to coincide with the International Children's Day. Putin presented the families with the Order of Parental Glory and the title of Mother Heroine.
"We honor large, friendly families and express our sincere admiration <...> for our wonderful fellow citizens, who have rightfully been awarded high state awards such as the Order of Parental Glory and the title of Mother Heroine," the Russian leader said.
Putin noted that the International Children's Day in Russia is always treated with special warmth. According to him, this holiday is significant for everyone who cares about the future of the younger generation.
"The large families who are in this hall vividly embody such care. The parents in them generously give each child the most important thing — their love and support," the President emphasized.
Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said on May 29 that in Russia it is necessary to reduce the down payment on mortgages for large families. Matvienko also noted the need to improve the conditions for providing payments in the amount of 450 thousand rubles, effective for repayment of mortgage debt at the birth of a third child.
