A child died in an attack by a pet dog in Primorye

In Primorsky Krai, a one-and-a-half-year-old child was injured when a domestic dog attacked. A criminal case has been opened on this fact.

The incident occurred in the village of Barano-Orenburgskoye in the Border region. According to the PrimaMedia news agency, a boy in a private courtyard reached for a bowl of food from a guard dog. The animal reacted and attacked the child.

The ambulance arrived at the scene 14 minutes after the call was received. Doctors pronounced the child dead. The family of the deceased is provided with psychological support.

The prosecutor's office noted that a criminal case had been initiated under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence"). The investigation will assess the activities of the authorities of the system for the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency.

In Crimea, rabies was detected in a domestic dog in the village of Bogatoe in early May. The cause of the infection was the lack of timely vaccination.
