Lantratova reported on the reunification of about 80 families separated during HER
About 80 families separated during the special military operation (SVO) have been reunited. On June 1, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Yana Lantratova, told reporters.
"In addition, we are currently doing a lot of work on family reunification <...> And at the moment we have managed to help reunite about 80 families," she said in her speech at the Children's Day in the Kursk region.
The Ombudsman noted that at the moment about 50 children have been reunited, and a total of 101 people. She added that the work was complicated due to the loss of documents by some people and other difficulties.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 12 that work between Russia and Ukraine on family reunification must continue. Tatiana Moskalkova, who held the post of Ombudsman at the time, noted that family reunification is hard work in the current conditions, since the border between Ukraine and the Russian Federation is closed, and the deadlines for citizens in need of assistance have expired.
