The main period of the Unified State Exam in literature has begun in Moscow
The main period of the Unified State Exam (USE) has started in Moscow, more than 93 thousand people have registered to participate in it. Footage from the place of the Unified State Exam on June 1 is published by Izvestia.
"More than 93,000 people have been registered to take the state exam. Of these, 73,000 are graduates of the current year, our Moscow 11th graders. <...> Today we have an exam in literature, history and chemistry," said Tamara Romanova, Deputy head of the Department of State Supervision and Control in Education of the Department of Education and Science of the City of Moscow (DONM).
She specified that more than 22 thousand graduates take exams on the first day. To ensure the tests in the city, 570 examination points (PES) have been organized on the basis of schools. Nine more specialized points are open for students who are being treated in medical institutions.
Monitoring of the testing procedure is provided using video surveillance systems and metal detectors. According to Victoria Pashaly, the head of one of the PES, all materials are received and sent to the processing center exclusively in electronic format.
"We have surveillance cameras everywhere, both in the corridors and in the classrooms, absolutely everywhere, that is, we have no blind spots. <...> Public observers, they are present in large numbers today, and they can enter any auditorium. <...> If they suddenly notice such a violation, they mark it in their checklist and then fill out an online form," Pashaly said.
Core mathematics became the most popular elective subject among 11th graders - 59% of graduates preferred it. 38% of the participants chose social studies, 27% English, and 26% computer science. 19% of students plan to take physics, 15% biology, and 12% chemistry. Almost every 10th graduate will pass history or literature.
For the fourth year, a special format of preparation for final certification has been applied in the capital. Since February, 11th grade students have attended special school workshops, which took up at least 40% of the school time. Additional tools for independent work are available at the Moscow Electronic School (MES). The thematic collection contains about 440 video assignments, and the Exams service contains tests with automatic verification and recommendations from psychologists on stress management.
On May 29, Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov said that the Unified State Exam in Russia remains one of the most objective systems for assessing students' knowledge in the world. Passing the exam does not necessarily require tutoring. As an example, he cited a graduate of previous years who scored 400 points on the results of the Unified State Exam. According to the minister, regular studies, independent homework and high motivation to acquire knowledge helped him achieve this result.
