Barack Obama's Presidential Instagram account has been hacked
An unknown hacker hacked the account of former US President Barack Obama on Instagram (owned by Meta, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation). This was announced on June 1 by the TMZ portal.
According to media reports, the page was hacked on May 31. Then several new atypical publications appeared on it. In particular, an image generated by artificial intelligence with the caption in Arabic: "The White House is under the control of Shiites."
It is clarified that this was not Obama's personal account, but a working one — the one that was created for him during his presidential term in the White House. The management of the social network reported that the account was indeed hacked, but now all publications have already been deleted.
The Financial Times newspaper reported on March 31 that analysts are recording an increase in cyber attacks and digital confrontation between Iran, Israel and the United States against the background of the military conflict in the Middle East. According to experts, cyber attacks are used to spread fear, as well as to gather intelligence and coordinate strikes.
The Wall Street Journal reported on March 15 that Iran allegedly carried out one of the largest cyber attacks on the United States during the military conflict. According to the publication, the target was the global medical equipment manufacturing company Stryker.
