Air defense forces shot down 72 Ukrainian UAVs over Russian regions overnight

Last night, air defense systems destroyed 72 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the territory of Russia. This was announced on June 1 in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in the Maks messenger.

"During the past night, 72 Ukrainian aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems on duty from 20:00 Moscow time on May 31 to 7:00 Moscow time on June 1," the statement said.

It is specified that the targets were shot down over the territories of Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov regions, the Republic of Crimea and over the Black Sea.

The new radar has compact dimensions and high mobility.

The Governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexander Gusev, reported earlier that day that the air defense forces had intercepted 12 UAVs over the region overnight. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties or damage.
