The Ministry of Education and Science recalled the right of students who have become mothers to budget places

Female students who gave birth while studying at the university have the right to transfer from a paid department to a budget, as well as the right to financial support. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation recalled this on June 1.

"Today, universities are implementing a whole range of social support measures for student families, including the transfer to budget places of young mothers who gave birth during their studies, one—time and systematic payments in connection with marriage and the birth of a child to student families with children, and the provision of family rooms in the university dormitory," RIA Novosti said.

If necessary, students with children can switch to an individual study schedule, as well as get a ticket to a sanatorium or a rest home. The ministry added that 410 Russian universities provide financial support to single mothers and fathers: during 2025, 6405 students received such payments.

A total of 55.7 thousand women with underage children are currently studying at Russian universities, the ministry said.
