Somali pirates hijack tanker with fuel in Indian Ocean
A tanker carrying petroleum products was allegedly hijacked by Somali pirates off the northeastern coast of Somalia in the Indian Ocean. This was reported on May 31 by the Dalsan TV channel.
"The ship was detained on Wednesday in the waters between the coastal towns of Hafun and Bandarbayla in the Bari region of Puntland province, when it was en route from the port city of Berbera in Somaliland to the Somali capital, Mogadishu," the publication says.
