Iran is going to make its own changes to the text of the draft peaceful settlement of the conflict with the United States. This was reported on May 31 by the Tasnim news agency in the Telegram channel, citing a source.

"The exchange of texts is ongoing, and Iran will also make its own amendments to the text, but nothing has been finalized yet," the source said.

It is also noted that the introduction of amendments to the text of the draft by US President Donald Trump does not mean that Iran is ready to accept them. At the same time, possible disagreements on the agreement are allowed in the republic.

"Iran is also fully prepared for a situation of misunderstanding," the source said.

Trump had reported a day earlier that Iran had allegedly declared its readiness to abandon the creation and purchase of nuclear weapons during the US negotiations. According to him, the Islamic Republic had previously promised not to develop its own weapons, but did not disclose anything about a potential purchase. At Trump's initiative, this gap in the agreement was closed. The politician also stressed the difference between the original and amended draft agreement.

On May 29, Iranian Foreign Minister Ismail Bagai announced the continuation of negotiations between Tehran and Washington and the absence of agreements between them. At the same time, his colleague from the Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, stressed on May 27 that representatives of his country's diplomatic staff did not intend to make decisions based on Trump's emotional publications.
