CNN reported on Iran's restored access to underground weapons storage facilities
Iran has cleared rubble at 50 of the 69 entrances to 18 underground facilities that were previously hit by strikes by the United States and Israel. This was reported on May 31 by CNN TV channel with reference to satellite images.
For weeks, Washington and Tel Aviv have been trying to restrict access to Iranian underground bases by destroying access roads and collapsing tunnel entrances. However, since the ceasefire came into force, Iranian clearance work has noticeably accelerated, the TV channel claims.
"Satellite images studied by CNN show how Iran, with the help of simple machinery, bulldozers and dump trucks, neutralizes the consequences of these expensive operations," the TV channel reports.
The simple technique makes it possible to effectively restore access to strategic facilities, despite the scale of damage, CNN said.
On the same day, American leader Donald Trump said that the United States is currently "very close" to concluding a favorable deal with Iran. At the same time, he noted that the alternative option continues to be a military resolution of the conflict.
The official representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ismail Bagai, announced on May 29 that Tehran was continuing negotiations with Washington and there were no agreements between them.
At the same time, his colleague from the Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, stressed on May 27 that representatives of his country's diplomatic staff did not intend to make decisions based on Trump's emotional publications.
