The head of the Crimean parliament called Callas' demand to Russia absurd.
The head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, called absurd the demands of the head of the European Diplomacy, Kai Kallas, on restrictions for Russia in the event of negotiations on Ukraine.
"There are no real peace initiatives in the Callas statement, but only ultimatums. All her demands are absurd in their logic and, therefore, obviously unacceptable," he stressed in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Konstantinov also noted that the European Union (EU) follows the approach of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, in which demonstrating movement towards peace is more important than a real result.
The day before, Finnish politician Armando Mema, a member of the Freedom Alliance party, said that instead of calling for increased pressure on the Russian Federation, Kallas should have increased psychiatric treatment. He added that the countless calls of the head of the European diplomacy to pay attention to the alleged "Russian threat" in Europe are nonsense.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 29, during a conversation with the media, that Moscow had never refused diplomatic contacts and was ready to continue negotiations on Ukraine. He added that the dialogue on the situation in Ukraine remains, although negotiations are currently on pause.
