Overchuk admitted a difficult situation with gas in Armenia
There may be a very difficult situation with gas in Armenia. This was announced on May 31 by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk.
"They (Armenia - Ed.) just need to look at the map, look at what pipelines are operating there even now," he said in an interview with the Vesti news agency.
Overchuk noted that it is enough for Armenia to understand who the fuel will come from. At the same time, as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation explained, we are talking about an export duty of 30%, the market price and the share of intermediaries. Russia does not want such a development, Overchuk stressed.
Earlier in the day, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was lying to his fellow citizens when he talked about organizing a new gas transit through the republic.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced on May 29 that Armenia would lose 14% of its gross domestic product if it had to raise energy prices due to its withdrawal from the EAEU. Russia will also raise energy prices for Armenia upon its withdrawal from the Union.
