Scammers use pseudonymous terms to create a sense of legitimacy and urgency in people. This was announced on May 31 by the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

One of the most common formulations is "secure account". In the Russian banking system, there are no special accounts of the Central Bank or law enforcement agencies for transferring citizens' money. Any proposal to transfer funds for security purposes is fraud, the department stressed.

The attackers also use the term "remote search", which is a completely fictional procedure. Law enforcement agencies do not conduct searches via video or instant messengers.

"A common feature of such terms is the creation of a sense of participation in a complex "state procedure" where one cannot argue, delay or double—check information. The more unusual and official the wording sounds, the more likely it is that you are facing a fraudulent legend," the agency said in its Telegram channel.

In addition, the attackers use phrases such as "freelance employee of the courier service", "mirror loan", "secure safe deposit box" and "counter transfer", clarifies "Газета.Ru ".

The Interior Ministry also reported on May 27 that scammers had come up with a new scheme in which they promise easy earnings for photographs of gravestones of dead soldiers of a special military operation. Ukrainian special services and fraudulent call centers are behind the proposals. The personal data obtained is used to call relatives of the victims, allegedly with payments from the Ministry of Defense, and is also transferred to enemy intelligence agencies for information and psychological operations and destabilization of the situation in Russia.
