An emergency situation regime was introduced in the village of Matveev Kurgan in the Rostov region due to a fire at a local oil depot caused by a drone attack. This was announced on May 31 by the head of the district administration, Dina Alborova.
"As of May 31, 2026, from 02:20 Moscow time, an emergency regime has been introduced in the village of Matveev Kurgan," she wrote on her Telegram channel.
Alborova added that the fire area has now reached 3.6 thousand square meters. m. More than 100 people have been involved in extinguishing the fire, who are making efforts to minimize the consequences of the incident. There were no casualties as a result of the incident.
The head of the district administration stressed that she was on site and coordinated the work of all services. She clarified that damage was recorded in 17 households, three shops, a pharmacy and a car.
"I ask everyone to remain calm, do not approach the scene and follow the instructions of the emergency services," she concluded.
On the same day, Governor Yuri Slyusar reported a fire during a drone attack on a fuel storage facility in the Rostov region. He said that the people who lived near the attacked facility were evacuated, and a fire train was involved in extinguishing the fire. The head of the region clarified that in total, more than 50 drones were eliminated over the region.
