- Fox News showed a picture posted by Trump at the White House with Putin from Anchorage
US President Donald Trump posted a group photo of himself with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the Palm Room of the White House. The photo was shown on Fox News channel on May 30.
The film crew accompanied the wife of the third son of American President Eric Trump at the moment when she was getting acquainted with the construction of the ballroom.
In the resulting report, one could see a photo of Putin and Trump, which hung among other pictures on the wall of the Palm Room.
The frame was placed in a wooden frame and hung above a portrait of the US president from one of the party events, during which he donned his red cap with his campaign slogan "Make America Great Again".
In the photo, Putin and Trump are standing together on a podium installed at the Anchorage airport, where contacts later took place.
On May 20, the head of the White House reiterated that he and the Russian leader have good relations. Five days later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a telephone conversation with American Secretary of State Marco Rubio. During the meeting, the politicians discussed the situation in Ukraine, the escalation in the Middle East and personal bilateral relations. Moscow's position was conveyed to Washington.
Then Lavrov reminded the American side of the agreements reached at the highest level in Anchorage. As early as March 5, he pointed to the gradual "weathering of the spirit" that the leaders managed to achieve at that time. The next day, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov commented on the progress of the Russian-American dialogue. According to him, although it is slow, it is still moving forward.
