In Newark, New Jersey, protests and clashes with police resumed near the Delaney Hall migrant accommodation center, in which participants demanded better conditions at the center. This was reported on May 30 by NBC News.

"These people do not come here to commit crimes, but in search of a better life for themselves and their loved ones, they deserve rights. They deserve a fair and proper trial," said Jacqueline Calderone, a participant in the protest.

The protesters claim that migrants are being held in inhumane conditions. According to the lawyers of the detainees, some of them went on a hunger strike. The US Department of Homeland Security denies these accusations.
