Private Ilgam Yunusov, as part of an assault group, was carrying out the task of taking positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) when the enemy opened machine-gun fire. The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Sunday, May 31.

Yunusov decided to approach the AFU firing point unnoticed. Using the terrain for camouflage, he approached the calculation and used hand grenades, destroying a machine gun and enemy personnel.

Yunusov was wounded during the further assault, but decided to stay in position and finish the job. The AFU position was successfully occupied, and when the enemy attempted a counterattack, the soldier, despite being wounded, managed to eliminate several AFU soldiers, which forced the enemy to retreat.

The Defense Ministry also noted the dedication of Guard Sergeant Pavel Yelsukov, who delivered ammunition to Russian soldiers when the Ukrainian Armed Forces opened artillery fire.

Despite the danger, Yelsukov decided to continue on his way. He began to maneuver, leading the car away from the blows, and successfully got out of the firing zone. The ammunition was delivered to its destination on time.
